Welding and Fabrication Technology


SSCE Requirements


To study this course, candidates seeking admission into the Welding and Fabrication Technology department, must have at least five (5) credits (C5 and more) in their SSCE disciplines, including the following:


  • Mathematics,


  • Physics,


  • Chemistry and


  • any two subjects from:


  • Biology/Agricultural Science, Technical Drawing, Basic Electronics/Basic Electricity, Auto Mechanics, Metal Work, Woodwork (for Civil Engineering Tech.), Further Mathematics, English Language, Geography, Economics/Commerce.


  • At least a credit pass in English Language is required.

Geological Technology

To study this course, candidates aspiring to gain admission into Geological Technology department, should at least obtain five (5) credit (C5 and above) passes in their SSCE subjects including:

  • Mathematics and


  • any two (2) subjects from:


  • Geography, Biology,


  • Economics,


  • Agricultural Science,


  • Basic Electronics,

Mechanical Engineering Technology


SSCE Requirements


To study this course, the minimum requirement for applicants seeking admission to the Mechanical Engineering Technology department, is five (5) credits (C5 and higher) in their SSCE subjects, including the following:


  • English Language,


  • Mathematics,


  • Physics, Chemistry and


  • any one subject from:


  • Biology/Agricultural Science, Technical Drawing, Basic Electronics/Basic Electricity, Auto Mechanics, Metal Work, Woodwork (for Civil Engineering Tech.), Further Mathematics, English Language, Geography and Economics/Commerce


  • For Marine Engineering and Industrial Safety & Environmental Engineering a pass in Biology is required.

To study this course, a minimum of five (5) credit passes (C5 and higher) in their SSCE subjects, including the following, are required for applicants to the Animal Health and Production Technology department.

Science Laboratory Technology (SLT)

To study this course, a minimum of five (5) credit passes (C5 and higher) in their SSCE subjects, including the following, are required for applicants to the Science Laboratory Technology (SLT) department.


  • English Language

  • Any two (2) subjects from: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology / Agricultural Science / Health Science
