To study this course, the minimum requirement for applicants seeking admission to the Chinese Studies department under Faculty of Arts and Humanities, is five (5) credits (C5 and higher) in their SSCE subjects, including the following:

four (4) other relevant subjects.

1. Vocational Education
To study this course, a minimum of five (5) credit passes (C5 and higher) in their SSCE subjects, including the following, are required for applicants to the Vocational Education department.
Agricultural Technical Education:
Geography / Physics or Mathematics, Economics plus one (1) of Literature in English, History, Government, Geography / Physics, Chemistry and Physics or TC Grade II.
Home Economics:
and any two (2) of Management, Biology, Chemistry, and Clothing and Textiles.
2. Library and Information Science (LIS)
To study this course, candidates aspiring to gain admission into Library and Information Science (LIS) department, should at least obtain five (5) credit (C5 and above) passes in their SSCE subjects including:
two (2) other Science subjects.
3. Secretarial Education
To study this course, candidates aspiring to gain admission into Secretarial Education department, should at least obtain five (5) credit (C5 and above) passes in their SSCE subjects including:
Government, Geography / Physics, Accounting, Business Methods, History, Shorthand, Mathematics,
Commerce, Principles of Accounts, Office Practice AND Secretarial Duties.
4. Industrial Design
To study this course, candidates seeking admission into the Industrial Design department, must have at least five (5) credits (C5 and more) in their SSCE disciplines, including the following:
any one (1) from: Spinning, Weaving, Surface Design and Printing, Bleaching, Dyeing and Finishing, Ceramics, Graphic Design, Graphic Printing, Decorative Painting, Spray Painting, Lining, Sign and Design, Wall Hanging, Colour Mixing / Matching and Glazing, Building / Engineering Drawing and General Wood Work.
