To service the growing demand of insufficient supply of (Clarias gariepinus) brookstock for aquaculture in Nigeria, Conserve valuable genetic resources and with the intent of obtaining a semen preservation protocol that can serve as a means of making fingerlings available to fish farmers all year round, this study assessed cryopreservation (Clarias gariepinus) of three specimen were discested and milt preserved. Result showed that there was significance difference between fresh semen and control. Cryopreservation of sperm, remains essentially a research activity that is just beginning to have commercial application. It is hope their efforts will be geared towards standardization of research result to enhance beneficial repeatability by interested fish farmers.
