ABSTRACT

Event properties renting is an agreement where a payment is made for the temporary use of a good, service or property owned by another person or company. The aim of the study is to design and implement A Web-based Event Properties Renting System. In achieving this aim, the following specific objectives were laid out as follows to develop an application software that will make necessary equals of relevant information about all rented event properties transaction made between the firm and the client and Produce timely and accurate properties rental reports for managerial use to make good plans, direct and control the activities in the firm as well as taking effective decision to suit any decision.

The motivation that led to the implementation of the proposed system is that the rental updating activities are time consuming very poor and lack accuracy, lack of adequate event properties renting information for decision making and errors and inaccuracy since all computations are done manually.

The methodology adopted in this study is the structured system analysis and design methodology (SSADM) which is a technical approach for analyzing and designing an application or system by applying object throughout the software development process. The programming language used is HTML, CSS, JAVASCRIPT, PHP, SQL and JQUERY. The reason why web programming languages was used is because, it is platform independent and it is a web based application.

The proposed system will assist with proper coordination of venues for an event and those that are to participate in such event is of high importance towards preventing clashes of venues and also uninvited personnel to a particular event. This research work is of great importance in that it seeks to provide innovative services relating to estate management such as providing information on land use as quickly as possible. The expected result is A Web-based Event Properties Renting System that will make entries of all rented event properties transactions made and handle details for rent and sale of event property from clients.

CHAPTER ONE

1.1 Introduction

Event properties renting is an agreement where a payment is made for the temporary use of a good, service or property owned by another person or company. The owner of the good, service or property may be referred to as the lessor and the party paying to use the property as the lessee or renter. There is typically an implied, explicit, or written rental agreement or contract involved to specify the terms of the rental, which are regulated and managed under contract law. When renting real estate, the person(s) or party who lives in or occupies the real estate is often called a tenant, paying rent to the owner of the property, the lessor, often called a landlord (or landlady). The rental agreement for real estate is often called a lease, and usually involves specific property rights in real property, as opposed to chattels. Computerized rentals information system is a program that is use to track all the rental information and data. It documents their daily activities such as their daily rental, income and expenditure.

As a prelude to other parts of this study, this chapter will discuss the background upon which this study was initiated, the statement of problems that led to this study, the Aim and Objectives of the study. Others are Significance of the study, Scope of work, Limitations of the Study and Definition of technical terms.
