Design and Implementation of an Active Database for Managing Hypertension

CHAPTER ONE

1.0 Introduction

This chapter entails the introductory aspect of the project,Statement of the problem, Aim and objectives, and finally Signification of the project.

1.1 Statement of the Problem

Diagnosis and managing of hypertension using conventional/traditional method is bedeviled with error or inaccuracy and more so, in some cases a doctor has to scan through the literature before making diagnosis thereby spending too much time.

1.2 Objectives

The aim/ objectives of this research project is to develop application software that will handle hypertension therapy for hypertensive patient in the hospital.

The objectives of the study can be summarized thus:

  1. To provides diagnosis for hypertension patients
  2. To provides therapy for hypertension patients and
  3. To monitors the patient’s health based on therapy administered.

1.3 Signification of the Project

The study will help its users to diagnose hypertension even in the absence of a doctor. It is also going to assist in knowing when therapy would be reduced or increased.
