    ABSTRACT

This project Case Study is channeled to NYSC (National Youth Service Corps) but can be used by any other organization that deals with quarterly or yearly publications. Sometimes, the problem associated with publication can be numerous and this leads to difficulties and challenges during editing as well as publications. Some of these challenges include collating of data and images for publication, editing of articles by different editorial officers before publication, distribution of this magazines to different state and offices etc. The aim of the study is to design and implement an Electronic Magazine portal for Editorial and Publication. In achieving this aim, the following specific objectives were laid out as follows to develop an application software that will create a platform where articles and data can be efficiently organized for publication in a magazine and integrate a social platform within the corps member only where they can communicate and share ideas within themselves.

This project tell more about how effective the internet can be used as a tool to handle problems associated with the editing, collating and publication of articles. It demonstrates a special way with different channels at which an article will pass through during editing without losing it relevance. Qualitative research methodology was used for data collection and this includes interview, review of the current system and also observation. Being an online system, the end application was developed using series of web development languages like HTML5, CSS3,jQuery, PHP (on MVC Framework which is the latest technology for web development) and MySQL.

The expected result is an Electronic Magazine portal for Editorial and Publication that will give details on images and thereby do automatic collation of these images and prepare them for publication and enable Corps Members to write their articles and submit for proper editing and publication irrespective of their current location.

    1.0 Introduction

    1.1 Background Of Study

This project Case Study is channeled to NYSC (National Youth Service Corps) but can be used by any other organization that deals with quarterly or yearly publications. Sometimes, the problem associated with publication can be numerous and this leads to difficulties and challenges during editing as well as publications. Some of these challenges include collating of data and images for publication, editing of articles by different editorial officers before publication, distribution of this magazines to different state and offices etc.

During publication period, NYSC urges corps members that have articles to publish to bring their articles to the state secretariat for editing and scrutinizing if they are publishable but due to the fact that corps member might not be available due to distance between their place of primary assignment and the state secretariat.

This project tell more about how effective the internet can be used as a tool to handle problems associated with the editing, collating and publication of articles. It demonstrates a special way with different channels at which an article will pass through during editing without losing it relevance.

1.2 Aims and Objectives of Study

The aim of the study is to design and implement an Electronic Magazine portal for Editorial and Publication. In achieving this aim, the following specific objectives were laid out as follows to develop an application software that will:

    2. Create a channel which these articles will pass through and various editorial officers will used these channel to scan and edit these article before publication.
    3. Give details on images and thereby do automatic collation of these images and prepare them for publication.
    4. Enable Corps Members to write their articles and submit for proper editing and publication irrespective of their current location.
    5. Integrate a social platform within the corps member only where they can communicate and share ideas within themselves.

    1.3 Scope Of Study

The scope of this project research is limited to the role of internet in information management and management information system (MIS).

Defense Procedure for Computer Science Researchers

In preparation for defending a project or seminar on Design and Implementation of an E-magazine portal for Editorial and Publication, it is imperative that as a nursing student, you demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of your research. The defense process is structured to include presenting your work, answering questions, and illustrating its pertinence. Initially, provide a succinct yet thorough introduction to your research topic, emphasizing its importance and the objectives, ensuring that both the audience and the External Examiner can understand the scope of your study.

Prior to your defense, be thoroughly acquainted with your research abstract and the critical elements of Chapter One, including motivation for embarking on this research, problem statement, objectives, and significance. In Chapter Two, be ready to cite at least two references from the literature review. For Chapter Three, you should be equipped to discuss the methodologies, tools, and techniques utilized. In Chapter Four, defend your research by justifying the findings and linking them to your research objectives.

Conclude your defense by succinctly summarizing the study and offering insightful, evidence-based recommendations. A professional dress code, such as wearing a suit and tie, is vital to create a favorable impression and elevate your presentation.

During the question and answer segment, the External Examiner may pose questions pertaining to your research. If confronted with a challenging or irrelevant question, respond diplomatically with, “Sorry, Sir/Madam, the question asked is beyond the scope of my study.” Whenever possible, direct your answers back to your research findings to reinforce your expertise.
