Admission Requirements for Social Work When Accredited in Enugu State University of Science & Technology (ESUT)


O’Level Requirements


To study this course, candidates seeking admission into the Social Work department under Faculty of Social Sciences, must have at least five (5) credits (C5 and more) in their SSCE disciplines, including the following:

  • any three (3) other relevant subjects.


JAMB Subject Combination


  • Use of English,


  • Economics/Geography,


  • Mathematics and


  • any other subject.


ESUT Cut-Off Mark for Social Work


The general UTME cut-off mark is 180, but due to the variation of Social Work cut-off mark depending on the admission year and competition level, we suggest you enquire about the recent JAMB UTME cut-off mark from ESUT Officials. However, to improve your admission chances:


  • Aim for 180+ score.


  • Perform well in Post-UTME screening.


Other ESUT Social Science Courses with their Requirements


1. Accountancy / Accounting


To study this course, the minimum requirement for applicants seeking admission to the Accountancy / Accounting department, is five (5) credits (C5 and higher) in their SSCE subjects, including the following:


  • English Language,


  • Mathematics,


  • Economics and any other two (2) relevant subjects.


  • For NBC holders, the other two (2) relevant subjects could be from any of


  • Principles of Accounts, Commerce, Office Practice and Secretarial Duties.



2. Political Science


To study this course, a minimum of five (5) credit passes (C5 and higher) in their SSCE subjects, including the following, are required for applicants to the Political Science department.


  • English Language,


  • Government or History,


  • at least a pass in Mathematics, and


  • three (3) other subjects.



3. Sociology and Anthropology


To study this course, a minimum of five (5) credit passes (C5 and higher) in their SSCE subjects, including the following, are required for applicants to the Sociology and Anthropology department.

To study this course, candidates seeking admission into the Estate Management (EM) department, must have at least five (5) credits (C5 and more) in their SSCE disciplines, including the following:
