Admission Requirements for Art and Design When Accredited in Federal University of Dutse (FUD)


O’Level Requirements


To study this course, a minimum of five (5) credit passes (C5 and higher) in their SSCE subjects, including the following, are required for applicants to the Art and Design department under Faculty of Arts and Humanities.


  • Fine Art


  • English Language


  • Mathematics


  • Any two (2) subjects from: History / Government, Chemistry / Physical Science, Biology / Agricultural Science, Literature in English, Clothing and Textiles, Religious Knowledge, Economics / Commerce, Geography, and Home Economics


JAMB Subject Combination


  • Fine Art


  • English language


  • Any two (2) subjects from: History, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, and A Nigeria Language (Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, and others)


FUD Cut-Off Mark for Art and Design


The general UTME cut-off mark is 180, but due to the variation of Art and Design cut-off mark depending on the admission year and competition level, we suggest you enquire about the recent JAMB UTME cut-off mark from FUD Officials. However, to improve your admission chances:


  • Aim for 180+ score.


  • Perform well in Post-UTME screening.

1. Library and Information Science (LIS)


To study this course, candidates seeking admission into the Library and Information Science (LIS) department, must have at least five (5) credits (C5 and more) in their SSCE disciplines, including the following:


  • English Language,


  • Mathematics,


  • Physics and


  • two (2) other Science subjects.



2. English Language


To study this course, the minimum requirement for applicants seeking admission to the English Language department, is five (5) credits (C5 and higher) in their SSCE subjects, including the following:


  • English Language,


  • Literature in English, and


  • any other three (3) Arts/Social Science subjects.



3. Linguistics / French


To study this course, a minimum of five (5) credit passes (C5 and higher) in their SSCE subjects, including the following, are required for applicants to the Linguistics / French department.



4. Linguistics / Arabic


To study this course, candidates aspiring to gain admission into Linguistics / Arabic department, should at least obtain five (5) credit (C5 and above) passes in their SSCE subjects including:
