Admission Requirements for Geology When Accredited in Lagos State University of Science and Technology


O’Level Requirements


To study this course, the minimum requirement for applicants seeking admission to the Geology department under Faculty of Science, is five (5) credits (C5 and higher) in their SSCE subjects, including the following:


  • English Language,


  • Biology,


  • Chemistry,


  • Mathematics, and


  • any other relevant subject.


JAMB Subject Combination


  • Use of English and any three (3) of

The general UTME cut-off mark is 180, but due to the variation of Geology cut-off mark depending on the admission year and competition level, we suggest you enquire about the recent JAMB UTME cut-off mark from LASUSTECH Officials. However, to improve your admission chances:

Other LASUSTECH Science Courses with their Requirements


1. Building Technology (BT)


To study this course, a minimum of five (5) credit passes (C5 and higher) in their SSCE subjects, including the following, are required for applicants to the Building Technology (BT) department.


  • Mathematics,


  • English Language,


  • Physics, Chemistry and


  • any one of


  • Geography, Economics, Arts and Technical drawing.


  • For holders of NTC, the other relevant subjects could be; Intro. to Building Construction, Bricklaying, Concreting, Walls, Floors and Ceiling Finishing, Building / Engineering Drawing, Joinery, Carpentry, Gas, Steam Work and Bronze Welding, Cold / Hot Water Supply, Sanitation and Drainage.



2. Mechanical Engineering Technology


To study this course, candidates seeking admission into the Mechanical Engineering Technology department, must have at least five (5) credits (C5 and more) in their SSCE disciplines, including the following:


  • English Language,


  • Mathematics,


  • Physics, Chemistry and


  • any one subject from:


  • Biology/Agricultural Science, Technical Drawing, Basic Electronics/Basic Electricity, Auto Mechanics, Metal Work, Woodwork (for Civil Engineering Tech.), Further Mathematics, English Language, Geography and Economics/Commerce


  • For Marine Engineering and Industrial Safety & Environmental Engineering a pass in Biology is required.



3. Agricultural Engineering / Technology


To study this course, a minimum of five (5) credit passes (C5 and higher) in their SSCE subjects, including the following, are required for applicants to the Agricultural Engineering / Technology department.



4. Quantity Surveying (QS)


To study this course, candidates seeking admission into the Quantity Surveying (QS) department, must have at least five (5) credits (C5 and more) in their SSCE disciplines, including the following:
