Admission Requirements for Nigerian Languages When Accredited in Lagos State University of Science and Technology


O’Level Requirements


To study this course, candidates seeking admission into the Nigerian Languages department under Faculty of Arts and Humanities, must have at least five (5) credits (C5 and more) in their SSCE disciplines, including the following:


  • English Language,


  • Literature in English,


  • any other three (3) subjects from Arts and Social Sciences.


JAMB Subject Combination


  • Use of English,


  • Literature in English,


  • one other Arts subject and


  • another Arts or Social Science subject.


LASUSTECH Cut-Off Mark for Nigerian Languages


The general UTME cut-off mark is 180, but due to the variation of Nigerian Languages cut-off mark depending on the admission year and competition level, we suggest you enquire about the recent JAMB UTME cut-off mark from LASUSTECH Officials. However, to improve your admission chances:


  • Aim for 180+ score.


  • Perform well in Post-UTME screening.


Other LASUSTECH Arts Courses with their Requirements


1. Leisure and Tourism Management


To study this course, the minimum requirement for applicants seeking admission to the Leisure and Tourism Management department, is five (5) credits (C5 and higher) in their SSCE subjects, including the following:


  • English Language,


  • Geography,


  • one Basic Science subject and


  • two other subjects from:


  • Economics/Commerce, History, Book Keeping Principles of Accounting, Mathematics, Fine Arts, French Language, Government, Food and Nutrition, Nigerian Language, Home Economics


  • A credit pass in Mathematics is compulsory.



2. Art and Design


To study this course, candidates aspiring to gain admission into Art and Design department, should at least obtain five (5) credit (C5 and above) passes in their SSCE subjects including:


  • Fine Art


  • English Language


  • Mathematics


  • Any two (2) subjects from: History / Government, Chemistry / Physical Science, Biology / Agricultural Science, Literature in English, Clothing and Textiles, Religious Knowledge, Economics / Commerce, Geography, and Home Economics



3. Mass Communication (MC)


To study this course, candidates seeking admission into the Mass Communication (MC) department, must have at least five (5) credits (C5 and more) in their SSCE disciplines, including the following:
