    Opinion Poll Information Management System

    CHAPTER ONE

    1.0 Introduction

    1.1 Background Of Study

    Poll is a public opinion survey in which either all members of a particular group, organization or randomly chosen respondents from a sector of population, are asked carefully designed questions to extract specific information.

    In some organization, suggestion box are still in use as a method of extracting the opinion of it staff and individuals under the organization and this is an old and inefficient method of opinion survey. A lot of limitations are associated to this type of polling system and some of these (but not limited to these) limitations are;

    1. An Individual might not be able to make the complain if ask face to face but will do that better at his or her convenience.
    2. Proper records of complaints and suggestion from a long period of time might not be properly kept and these record are very important for management
    3. Unwillingness attitude and bias mind of some of the staffs when attending to individual issues and needs.
    4. Time wasted in manual processing of complaints and suggestions.

    This project tends to curb the difficulties individuals face in lodging complaints and making suggestion.. It can be a case study of any organization or department especially schools (Secondary and Higher Institutions).


    1.2 Aims and Objectives of Study

    The aim of the study is to design and implement a Computerized Opinion Poll Information Management System. In achieving this aim, the following specific objectives were laid out as follows:

    1. To develop software that will replace the manual method of making suggestion, lodging complaints and requesting for information.
    2. To create a system to properly manage the records of opinion and suggestions of individuals.
    3. To eliminate the error involve with manual method of handling students issues.
    4. To improve communication between the organization and individuals whereby the feedback will be sent to them through the feedback module
    5. To enhance the time it take to process request or complaint.
    6. The ability to acknowledge request when a complaint is lodged.
    7. The ability to access and retrieve information after a long period of time.

    1.3 Scope Of Study

    The Scope of this project involves management information keeping and the use of web based platform for pooling systems.
