The topic of this research paper sociology and entrepreneurship, contribution and challenges to the socioeconomic development of Nigeria has been effectively researched. The study involved the random sampling of three (3) indigenous contractors involved in the importation of computer for the Nigeria market. Data was obtained from the administrated questionnaire and personal interviews of the sampled entrepreneurs. The research has established clearly that there exist certain problem affecting the practice of entrepreneurship in Nigeria.
Nonetheless, the research has establish that inexperience on the part of entrepreneurs has great effect on business failure while the prevalence of poor finding for entrepreneurial activities affects overall level of growth and development.Indeed, this references recommends strongly that the desired impact on entrepreneurial growth and development can be achieved through effective training and development of employee skill, aptitudes and commitment. Government must also put in place the enabling environment for effective promotion of entrepreneurial activities. This is indeed the way forward if the fortunes of the Nigeria public is to be achieved.
