O’Level Requirements
To study this course, the minimum requirement for applicants seeking admission to the Elementary Education department under Faculty of Education, is five (5) credits (C5 and higher) in their SSCE subjects, including the following:
any four (4) relevant subjects.

any three (3) relevant subjects.

The general UTME cut-off mark is 180, but due to the variation of Elementary Education cut-off mark depending on the admission year and competition level, we suggest you enquire about the recent JAMB UTME cut-off mark from SSU Officials. However, to improve your admission chances:

1. English Language
To study this course, candidates aspiring to gain admission into English Language department, should at least obtain five (5) credit (C5 and above) passes in their SSCE subjects including:
Literature in English, and
any other three (3) Arts/Social Science subjects.
2. Arabic Studies
To study this course, candidates seeking admission into the Arabic Studies department, must have at least five (5) credits (C5 and more) in their SSCE disciplines, including the following:

3. Islamic Studies
To study this course, the minimum requirement for applicants seeking admission to the Islamic Studies department, is five (5) credits (C5 and higher) in their SSCE subjects, including the following:
Islamic Studies or Arabic and
any three (3) relevant subjects.
4. History
To study this course, candidates aspiring to gain admission into History department, should at least obtain five (5) credit (C5 and above) passes in their SSCE subjects including:
Any other two (2) relevant Social Sciences or Arts subjects.
5. Hausa
To study this course, a minimum of five (5) credit passes (C5 and higher) in their SSCE subjects, including the following, are required for applicants to the Hausa department.
