O’Level Requirements
To study this course, a minimum of five (5) credit passes (C5 and higher) in their SSCE subjects, including the following, are required for applicants to the Home and Hotel Management department under Faculty of Management Sciences.
Biology/Agricultural Science,
Nutrition, Fine Arts, Textile, Construction, Technical Drawing,
Basic Electricity, Basic Catering and Food Services, Bakery and Confectioneries,
General Metal Work, Men Garment Construction and Finishing, Spinning, Weaving, Bleaching,
Surface Design and Printing, Dyeing and Finishing, Ladies Garment Construction and Finishing.

Biology/Agricultural Science,
one (1) Social Science subject.
SSU Home and Hotel Management Suggested Cut-Off Mark if Offered
The general UTME cut-off mark is 180, but due to the variation of Home and Hotel Management cut-off mark depending on the admission year and competition level, we suggest you enquire about the recent JAMB UTME cut-off mark from SSU Officials. However, to improve your admission chances:

1. Economics
To study this course, candidates seeking admission into the Economics department, must have at least five (5) credits (C5 and more) in their SSCE disciplines, including the following:
any two (2) of Arts or Social Science subjects.
2. Sociology
To study this course, candidates aspiring to gain admission into Sociology department, should at least obtain five (5) credit (C5 and above) passes in their SSCE subjects including:
four (4) other Social Sciences/Arts subject.
3. Political Science
To study this course, the minimum requirement for applicants seeking admission to the Political Science department, is five (5) credits (C5 and higher) in their SSCE subjects, including the following:
at least a pass in Mathematics, and
three (3) other subjects.
4. Guidance and Counselling
To study this course, a minimum of five (5) credit passes (C5 and higher) in their SSCE subjects, including the following, are required for applicants to the Guidance and Counselling department.
‘O’ Level pass in Mathematics, and
any three other relevant subjects.
5. Educational Management
To study this course, candidates aspiring to gain admission into Educational Management department, should at least obtain five (5) credit (C5 and above) passes in their SSCE subjects including:
Level NTC/NBC credit passes, or
Level pass in Mathematics, and
any other relevant subject.
