Admission Requirements for Linguistics When Accredited in University of Africa, Bayelsa State (UAT)


O’Level Requirements


To study this course, candidates seeking admission into the Linguistics department under Faculty of Arts and Humanities, must have at least five (5) credits (C5 and more) in their SSCE disciplines, including the following:

To study this course, candidates seeking admission into the Linguistics and Nigerian Languages department, must have at least five (5) credits (C5 and more) in their SSCE disciplines, including the following:


  • English Language and


  • any other four (4) relevant subjects from Arts, Social Sciences and Sciences.



2. English Language


To study this course, candidates seeking admission into the English Language department, must have at least five (5) credits (C5 and more) in their SSCE disciplines, including the following:

  • Literature in English, and


  • any other three (3) Arts/Social Science subjects.



3. Theatre Arts


To study this course, a minimum of five (5) credit passes (C5 and higher) in their SSCE subjects, including the following, are required for applicants to the Theatre Arts department.
