O’Level Requirements


To study this course, a minimum of five (5) credit passes (C5 and higher) in their SSCE subjects, including the following, are required for applicants to the Nigerian Languages department under Faculty of Arts and Humanities.


  • English Language,


  • Literature in English,


  • any other three (3) subjects from Arts and Social Sciences.


JAMB Subject Combination


  • Use of English,


  • Literature in English,


  • one other Arts subject and


  • another Arts or Social Science subject.


UNN Cut-Off Mark for Nigerian Languages


The general UTME cut-off mark is 180, but due to the variation of Nigerian Languages cut-off mark depending on the admission year and competition level, we suggest you enquire about the recent JAMB UTME cut-off mark from UNN Officials. However, to improve your admission chances:

Fine Arts / Fine and Applied Arts


SSCE Requirements


To study this course, candidates aspiring to gain admission into Fine Arts / Fine and Applied Arts department, should at least obtain five (5) credit (C5 and above) passes in their SSCE subjects including:


  • English Language and


  • Fine Arts.


  • For holders of NTC, the relevant subjects could be


  • Machine Printing and Finishing, General Metal Work, Basic Electricity, Spinning, Weaving, Surface Design and Printing, Bleaching, Dyeing and Finishing, Graphic Design, Graphic Printing and Ceramics;


  • General Wood work, Building / Engineering Drawing, Introduction to Building Construction, Decorative Painting, Spray Painting, Lining, Sign and Design, Wall hanging, Colour Mixing / Matching and Glazing, Printing Origination.



Education and English Language

Archaeology


SSCE Requirements


To study this course, the minimum requirement for applicants seeking admission to the Archaeology department, is five (5) credits (C5 and higher) in their SSCE subjects, including the following:
