ABSTRACT

Gold mining is the extraction of gold resources by mining. Historically, mining gold from alluvial deposits used manual separation processes, such as gold panning. However, with the expansion of gold mining to ores that are not on the surface, has led to more complex extraction processes such as pit mining and gold cyanidation. The aim of the study is to scrutinize the Delineating Structural Features for Possible Gold Mineralization Zones using Aeromagnetic Data. In achieving this aim, the following specific objectives were laid out to delineate the geological structures such as lineaments, faults, dykes, folds, and other intrusive bodies that could be the host for gold mineralization using aeromagnetic and radiometric data, observe the numerous unregistered, artisanal miners, are scattered across Niger state including part of the study area, and improve the internally generated revenue. Thus, a detailed geological analysis of this field is required to determine the exact location and depth to these structures. Primary data were collected from the primary source which questionnaire was used as an instrument of data collection while secondary data were sources from textbooks, journals, newspapers and the internet were employed. This study will be of immense benefit to geologist and other researchers who intend to know more on this study and can also be used by non-researchers to build more on their research work. This study contributes to knowledge and could serve as a guide for other study.
