ABSTRACT


Pesticides are chemical or biological agent that deters, incapacitates, kills, or otherwise discourages pests. Pesticides exposure can cause a variety of adverse health effects, ranging from simple irritation of damages to the newousa system and even life threatening ailments. Although pesticides have benefits, some also have drawbacks, causing potential toxicity to humans and other species.



1.0 Introduction

Pesticides have been defined as any substance or mixture of substances intended for preventing, destroying or controlling any pest, including vectors of humans or animal diseases, unwanted species of plants or animals, causing ham during or otherwise interfering with the production, processing, storage transports, or marketing of food, and agricultural commodities (Ahmed, and Zeuzem, 2014).

The term pesticides include all the following: herbicide, insecticide, piscide, avicide, rodenticide, predacide, fungicide, disinfectant (antimicrobial) and sanibzer (Bickerstaff, 2015).
