1.1 Introduction
Football is a sport played with feet. Football requires some technical competence like passing, crossing, and free-kick, shoot, dribbling, blocking and cutting the balls, ball controls, and leaders to be performed efficiently. Football is one of the most played and most loved sport on the planet. But soccer requires practice. Practice in defending goal posts, receiving short passes, receiving long shots, getting ball throws for header practice and so on. One coach needs to train 11 players and each player needs ball practice. So here we design a machine that can shoot soccer balls with high speed and very high accuracy for efficient soccer practice. For a football player to perform well in football, it is necessary to improve his technical and tactical skills. Improving these skills is enabled with the repetition of the same positions that the football player has the ball. The repetitions of these same positions can be performed with the aid of a machine.
As a prelude to other parts of this study, this chapter will discuss the background upon which this study was initiated, the statement of problems that led to this study, the Aim and Objectives of the study. Others are Significance of the study, Scope of work, Limitations of the Study and Definition of technical terms.
1.2 Background of Study
Football launcher is invented by Christian gutter in Germany 2006. After it was recreated in Borussia Dortmund Germany football club in 2012 Ball delivery system are already widely used for many sports across the globe. These Has similar traits in small function and purpose. But many lack user and capabilities Interaction and customizations. The main design provided for independent movement Loading or unloading balls, while player tracking motion and automatic has been provided a strong basis. It is very nearby culture background an automatic system will have great potential for youth goal programmer.
In our country, football love and participation are at an in- disputable extent. Nevertheless, the desired success level has not yet been reached. It can be said that the most important factor to determine a football match’s quality is footballers having flight-level technical capacity. A fine technique is a footballer’s performing appropriate movements in the most efficient way (Taşkın, 2005).
Many studies have linked purposeful heading in soccer to brain trauma injury, similar to that found in mild traumatic brain injury. Both amateur and professional soccer players were evaluated in the past decades (Lipton, 2013; Koerte et al., 2012). These studies demonstrated that heading in soccer might be harmful to the brain. Although the cognitive impairment might also be caused by other head impact cases such as head-to-head or head-to-elbow impacts, the detrimental effects of head- to-ball impact cannot be simply ruled out. A single heading might not be dangerous, but the cumulative effects of the repeated blows are the main concerns.
Therefore, in Nigeria where the research was carried out, the activities that was conducted is to know the Design and Fabrication of Football Shooter Soccer Ball Launcher Machine.
1.3 Statement of Problems
Investigation revealed that in the existing system there is need for battery recharging, maintenance and there are still a lot of problems in the training of football shooting. The shooting movements in training are not standardized. The coach only pursues a one-sided shooting rate rather than seeing whether the shooting movements of the players are accurate and standardized. Deep learning enables machines to imitate human activities such as seeing, hearing, and thinking. It solves many complex pattern recognition problems.
1.4 Aim and Objectives of Study
The aim of the study is to Design and Fabricate a Football Shooter Soccer Ball Launcher Machine. In achieving this aim, the following specific objectives were laid out as follows:
- To design a launcher machine that will motorized football angle adjustment;
- To design a ball launcher machine that will automatically shoot footballs; and
- To fabricate a machine that will easily move and motorized football angle adjustment.
1.5 Significance of Study
In this study, a football throwing machine is designed for footballers to develop their personal attributes and performances, to train repeatedly, and to have a complete training assessment. The designed machine enables us to apply various training programs along with throwing the ball in different directions. That is to say, a footballer can train himself in various tempos after a trainer determines various plans. In the second part of the study parts of the machine are introduced and their tasks in the system are mentioned. The third part has consisted of results and suggestions.
This study will be of immense benefit to other researchers who intend to know more on this study and can also be used by non-researchers to build more on their research work. This study contributes to knowledge and could serve as a guide for other study.
1.6 Scope of Study
The scope of the research is focused on the Design and Fabrication of Football Shooter Soccer Ball Launcher Machine.
1.7 Limitations of the Study
During the course of this study, many things militated against its completion, some of which are:
- Time Constraint: The time frame given to accomplish this project was very short due to school academic calendar and it was carried out under pressure which made the researcher not to implement some necessary features.
- Research material: availability of research material is a major setback to the scope of the study.
- Frequent power failure: This made the researcher append more money on fuel to ensure sustainable power.
- Financial Constraint: Insufficient fund tends to impede the efficiency of the researcher in sourcing for the relevant materials, literature or information and in the process of data collection (internet).
