Design and Implementation of Secure Online Forum for Staff and Student

This project deals with developing a secure online forum website for computer Science Students of the University of Port Harcourt it provides students with plat form for communication with their fellow students and staff. In order to facilitate security a user privileges right was implemented. The system was implemented using a 3-tier approach with a backend database a middle tier of Microsoft Internet information services (IIS) and java script and a web browser as the front end client. Information will now be gotten first hand and at a much faster rate. The use of online forum system would be of great importance in providing accurate timely and detailed information about state of the department’s activities.

This web site was developed with user friendliness and case of access in mind the online forum can be used to affectively exchange ideas and communication with colleagues. The system was developed using Microsoft asp.net and html. This language was chosen because of its syntax and easy features for developing online applications.
