1.1 Introduction
An intelligent system refers to technology that uses AI and machine learning to process large amounts of data, make decisions, and adapt to changing circumstances with minimal human intervention. These systems improve the functionality of automated processes by offering predictive analytics and advanced data management (Jones & Harris, 2019). The management of prisons has long been a complex and resource-intensive process, often plagued by inefficiencies, security risks, and human error. An Intelligent Prison Management Automation System (IPMAS) seeks to revolutionize the way correctional facilities are administered by integrating modern technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), biometric identification, and data automation. This system aims to streamline administrative processes, improve security protocols, and enhance the rehabilitation and monitoring of inmates.
Automated prison management systems enable real-time data monitoring, prisoner tracking, and automated scheduling for inmate activities and security checks. As prisons grow in size and inmate populations increase, the need for efficient, secure, and transparent systems becomes more pressing. Intelligent systems can significantly reduce human involvement in daily operational tasks, allowing correctional staff to focus on more critical areas such as rehabilitation and inmate welfare. According to Smith (2020), prison automation is a key factor in modernizing the criminal justice system, ensuring that facilities operate in compliance with international human rights standards.
