Defense Procedure for Physics Researchers
Deliberate About Your Research Operations in Context - It is expected of you to be familiar with your project or seminar on Database Emission of Carbon IV Oxide (CO2) in Nigeria. Defending your research as a Physics students involves a structured procedure aimed at presenting your work, addressing questions, and demonstrating its significance. Here is a general outline for a defense procedure:
Introduction: Begin with a brief introduction to your research topic, its importance, and the objectives of your study. Set the stage for the audience and your External Examiner to understand the context of your reseach work.
Before stepping up to the podium, you are expected to know the abstract, and core sections in Chapter One including; motivation, statement of problems, aim and objectives, scope, and significance of your research. Also, in chapter two, we suggest you state two or more citation from your review of related literature.
Further, the methodologies, tools and techniques used is expected to be known in chapter three of your project or seminar research. Moreso, you are expected to justify your research work and discuss the relevant findings with reference to the objectives of your research in chapter four.
Finally, conclude your research and make appropriate recommendation based on the findings of your research work.
Dress Code: Cooperate outfit is one of the pre-requisite during final year research defence session. For example; putting on suit and tie during project defense gives you an automatic mark without a word.
Question and Answer Session: Questions will be sourced from your research work by External Examiner and any difficult or unknown question that is not related to your research, kindly say "Sorry Sir/Madam, the question asked is not within my scope of study". importantly, try as much as possible to response to questions with reference to your research work.
