An admission screening examination is an examination that many educational institutions use to select students for admission. The aim of the study is to Design and Implementation of an Internet Based Admission Screening Examination System using Lens Polytechnic in Kwara State Offa as a case study. In achieving this aim, the following specific objectives were laid out as follows to design and develop an application software that will create strong and secrete data base that allow for any connection in a secret way and prevention of exam malpractices by applying strict timing possibility for each question and marking of questions immediately, The student fear of been marked down is eradicated and sorting practice is reduced.
The motivation that led to the implementation of the existing system is that many applicants find it difficult to get to the examination centers due to distance and high cost of transportation. The traditional examination for recruitment is usually characterized by cheating which hampers the credibility of recruited employees.
The methodology adopted in this study is the structured system analysis and design methodology (SSADM) which is a technical approach for analyzing and designing an application or system by applying object throughout the software development process. The programming language used is HTML, CSS, JAVASCRIPT, PHP, SQL and JQUERY. The reason why web programming languages was used is because, it is platform independent and it is a web based application. This project will be of benefit to: Educational Institution students, and lecturers. It will also be of immense benefit to researchers who intend to know more on this study and can also be used by non-researchers to build more on their research work. The expected result is an Online Examination System that will help the Institute to admission screening examination of students and develop their skills.
