ABSTRACT


The study was carried out to examine the Impact of Tribalism on Workplace Productivity. Investigation revealed that tribalism is the reason behind the underdevelopment that remains as a significant hindrance to organisational productivity efficiency. The research design used in this report is descriptive design, utilizing questionnaire method to obtain information from the respondents for this project. A total of 120 (One hundred and twenty) respondents were selected for this study to represent the entire population of the study. Primary data were collected from the primary source which questionnaire was used as an instrument of data collection while secondary data were sources from textbooks, journals, newspapers and the internet were employed. The data were presented on a frequency distribution table and analyzed using simple percentage, while hypothesis was tested using chi-square test. The present study hypothesized that there is significant effect of tribalism on the recruitment of workers in the area under review. Other hypothetical result is outlined at the presentation and data analysis section. The study will be relevant to Organizations that can take the provided information in this study to use it for saving them from their competitive advantage and improving their productivity and the important role tribal teamwork can play in helping organizations to achieve productivity. Based on the findings, it was recommended that tribal workers should engage in employment opportunities in various types of organizations to enhance their career prospects and bring about improvements in organizational productivity.



1.1 Introduction

Tribalism is referred to as the state of being organized within or between tribes. It is characterized as a term used to describe social groups that experience a clear sense of differentiation due to shared ancestry and culture. The tribal workers are referred to the ones who possess low literacy skills and are unaware in terms of various aspects are required to experience number of problems and challenges. The primary goals and objectives of tribal workers are to acquire good-quality education, develop their skills and abilities, get engaged in various types of employment opportunities and bring about improvements in their overall quality of lives. In the present existence, with advancements taking place and with the advent of modernization and globalization, the tribal workers are getting enrolled in educational institutions to acquire education.

As a prelude to other parts of this study, this chapter will discuss the background upon which this study was initiated, the statement of problems that led to this study, the Aim and Objectives of the study. Others are Significance of the study, Scope of work, Research hypothesis and questions, Limitation of the study and Definition of terms.
