1.1 Introduction
Free Space Optics (FSO) is an optical communication technology in which data is transmitted by propagation of light in free space allowing optical connectivity. There is no requirement of the optical fiber cable (Laseroptronics, 2021). Free space communication is cost efficient with high bandwidth a study in this regard is conducted in 2007. In this paper we discuss the defects which decrease performance of link due to turbulence fading induction. To overcome this special diversity are used over FSO links (Mohammad, 2007). Free space optics became more appealing as replacement to radio frequency in 2010. In this paper we discussed about the gain, loss along sight during information is sent from source to destination in medium. Free space optic communication is in need of tap proof and high speed system. Links are essentially used for number of satellites and ground station (Shabnam, 2011).
As a prelude to other parts of this study, this chapter will discuss the background upon which this study was initiated, the statement of problems that led to this study, the Aim and Objectives of the study. Others are Significance of the study, Scope of work, Limitations of the Study and Definition of technical terms.
