Mixed Findings of Past Research
There is no simply consensus on the nature or strength of the effects of viewing sexual televisions content, although a growing body of empirical research suggests that viewing sexual television content affect viewers behaviours, beliefs and attitudes.

In some series of experiment, early adolescents watched either television programs containing sexual subject matter (such as Dynasty and falcon crest), non sexual television programs, or no television at all after school each day for a week, several days later those who watched sexual television content expressed greater tolerance for marital infidelity and other sexual improprieties.

Using federal polytechnic Nekede as my case study, the effect of visual and verbal sexual content on Television of our students are quite high. For example, if the total of mass communication student are 300, not les than 200 students are affected by the things they derive from sexual content on television.
This study explores the nature of the effects of sexual content on television by examining the effects of visual and verbal sexual content, as viewing sexual content on television causes a shift in sexual attitudes.
1.1 Background of the Study
The word “verbal” can be described as communication that takes place with the use of “words” it can be further described as the interchange of thought and ideas between two or more people that are involved in communication process on Radio.
According to the English oxford advanced learners Dictionary described “Visual” as the connection with seeing or sight, that comprises of pictures, sounds, words and motion. Nonetheless, “sexual content” is connected with the physical activities of sex or pornographic action show, such as police drama.
“Television” is simple but as a process of transmitting a view of event plays. The effect of verbal and sensual sexual content on television amongst students of federal polytechnic Nekede Owerri, cannot be over emphasized because it has brought divers feelings that something is real and true. The exposure of visual and verbal sexual content on television can cause problems, for example students who are heavy viewers of television, especially on pornographic action shows, and vulgar words.
It is based on this course of study that researchers in mass communication department is carried out to investigate the effect of visual and verbal sexual content on television amongst student of federal polytechnic Nekede Owerri.
1.2 Statement of Problem
The effect of visual and verbal sexual content on television medium amongst students of federal polytechnic Nekede, by providing useful information needed.
The goal of television content or programmes, the goal of visual and verbal sexual content in our modern society is to change attitude and ultimate behavior towards the content on television.
It is apparent that a lot of problems are facing the media industry (television) as regards to the programmes. Lack of adequate awareness is another problem militating against television viewers, preferences for certain segment. Adequate awareness is therefore necessary to reach the wide audience about the existence, feature and possible advantage of television over the existing ones.
This project is therefore carried out to investigate the effect of visual and verbal sexual content on television producer to investigate the feelings and the effect of the target audience or how they perceived visual and verbal sexual content of the media industry using mass communication students of federal polytechnic Nekede, Owerri.
1.3 Purpose of Study
This study is specially based on the effect of visual and verbal sexual content on television amongst mass communication students in federal polytechnic Nekede Owerri. The media industry help in sending message over a long distance by television to the target audience.
Television content is to induce a change in the target audience in a specific context. The relevance of this research lives on the fact that the outcome will be on the instrumental in solving the audience problems, it will also help the media industry to know the techniques involved in visual and verbal sexual content on television and the read for effective programmes.
Finally, it would add to the existing today as a reference point to student in mass communication, carrying out this research to work on the topic.

- Finally, to what can be recommended on how to investigate the effect of visual and verbal sexual content on television amongst mass communication students in federal polytechnic Nekede Owerri.
1.5 Significance of Study
Finding of this study will go on, to improve the media industry with the increase in television programmes, both viewers will benefit from it.
The finding will help the media industry or television stations to tackle most of the constraints facing them and also known how to apply visual and verbal sexual content on television amongst students (federal polytechnic Nekede, Owerri).
1.7 Methodology
The various methods by which data are collected and analyzed in the process of carrying out this research work. By research methodology, we mean the methods and designs used by the researcher in the collection and analysis of data.

The research work is limited to sexual content on television; strategies of mass communication in federal polytechnic Nekede Owerri, the researcher will be restricted to sexual content on television amongst mass communication students in federal polytechnic Nekede Owerri.
This is because of the time lags and the cost invalided in the research coupled with the economic situation in the country.
