The study examines the role of media in curbing corruption in Nigeria as well as the problemsencountered in the process of performing this role. The study revealed that corruption has been and continuesto be a destructive element in the governance of Nigeria and perception of the country in the comity of nations.The study showed that poverty, threat to life, undue interference by government, harassment, injury and lackof laws to protect journalist are the major obstacles to media in their fight against corruption. Passage offreedom of information bill, training in investigative journalism and good remuneration are recommended formedia to be effective in the fight against corruption.
