ZACAS History English and Hausa Admission Requirement comprises the O'Level, JAMB, Post UTME, Direct Entry, and National Diploma (ND) to Higher National Diploma (HND) requirement; requirement;


O’Level Requirement

According to Our research, tertiary institution aspirants should at least obtain five (5) credit (C5 and above) passes in SSCE subjects including;


  • English Language and


  • any other four (4) relevant subjects.

Post UTME Requirement

Zamfara State College of Arts and Science (ZACAS) cut off mark for History English and Hausa must be obtained. The general UTME cut-off mark is 180 (For Medical Students, 220 and above is recommended), but due to the variation of the departmental cut-off mark, we suggest you enquire about the recent JAMB UTME cut-off mark from ZACAS Officials.


Direct Entry Requirement


  • Polytechnic Institution - At least an Upper Credit (UC) pass in History English and Hausa department.


  • Other Tertiary Institution - At least a Merit pass in History English and Hausa department.


ND to HND Requirement


  • Polytechnic Institution - At least a Lower Credit (LC) pass in History English and Hausa department, but an Upper Credit (UC) / Distinction pass in History English and Hausa department gives you an edge over a Lower Credit (LC) student during admission process.


History English and Hausa Procedure for Calculating Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA)


Diploma (HND / ND) C.G.P.A. Calculation Steps:


  • Get the Grade Point (GP) of your of each semester sessions.


    Grade Variables and Equivalent Values
    • A   = 4.0
    • AB = 3.5
    • B   = 3.0
    • BC = 2.5
    • C   = 2.0

    Course Grade Calculation = Grade Variable Earned (From A - C) x Credit Unit (CU)
    Repeat the Course Grade Calculation process for other courses
    Semester GP Calculation = Total Grade divided by Total Credit Unit (CU) = Semester Grade Point


  • Add each semester Grade Point (GP) and divide by the total semester. For example;


    ND 1 First Semester - 3.00
    ND 1 Second Semester - 3.40
    ND 2 First Semester - 3.50
    ND 2 Second Semester - 3.49
    C.G.P.A = 3.00 + 3.40 + 3.50 + 3.49 = 13.39
    C.G.P.A = 13.39 / 4 Semesters
    C.G.P.A.= 3.35
    Note: Distinction (3.50 and above), Upper Credit (3.00 to 3.49), Lower Credit (2.99 to 2.50) and Pass (below 2.49).
