ABSTRACT

The project is the construction of fluidised bed reactor. After a detailed research mild steel was chosen as the material of construction based on its inherent properties. The construction process entitles the marketing out of the sheet to the specified dimensions. This was followed by center punching and cutting. The sheets are then joined together after rolling by welding. Finally, surface treatment like painting was carried out to give it a brighter colour and durable property.

The dimension are:

  • Area of upper Nozzle = 4.56m2
  • Weir length of the nozzle = 0.16m
  • Area of upper frustrum = 4.36m2
  • Area of cylinder/vessel = 47.03m2
  • Weir length of cylinder/vessel = 0.29m
  • Area of the lower nozzle = 4.56m2
  • Weir length of lower nozzle = 0.31m
  • Area of the lower frustrum = 4.35m2
  • Radius of the perforated bed = 0.15m
  • Diameter of the perforation = 0.0251mm
  • Ration of length to Diameter is 2.1
  • The heat transfer coefficient of the material is 200w/m20C

The reactor constructed is a type of reactor that can be use to carry out a variety of multiphase chemical reaction example cracking of petroleum.

Construction of a Fluidzed Bed Reactor

1.0 Introduction

There could have been no development in the world without the art of Drawing when is the immediate expression of creative process as it evolves.

It is sufficient to note that drawing in designing was with engineers did to produce for that manufacturers what they needed.

The level of any nation cannot be fas fetched if not for due invention of modern instrument in the country. The equipment is produced in such a way that it is effective, convient and economically feasible and does no in any way impair the heath of the citizenry. All the effort used in the venation of this instrument is to make life more easier and meaningful. This invention cannot be over emphasized without drawing. Drawing contributes immensely in several areas of engineering work. For instance in communication, documentation of information design of equipment and flexibly in design cannot be obtained without the help of a standard drawing desk.

As an engineer, the fact that he has to design, operate and optimize the complete process makes drawing a necessity and the means through which this can be done is by the use of a standazied drawing desk. So, for this purpose this project was embarked upon so that every member of the group knows how to produce a standardized drawing desk without difficulties.

Types of Drawing Desk

  1. Adjustable.
  2. Non Adjustable.

There are two different types of drawing desk which are listed above. In this chapter we are going to discuss the important or merits and disadvantages of this drawing desk.

Adjustable Drawing Desk

This is the latest invalid drawing desk that is most efficient, effective and best for construction of any type of object because is adjustable. In this type of drawing desk it cab be adjustable to any length or lowered to any length through the aid of gears. Its varying height mechanism enable the drawing desk to be adjustable to any length.

Advantages of Adjustable Drawing Desk

  1. People with much height difference can use the same drawing table.
  2. Its usage is less boring when compared to non adjustable.
  3. Jobs are been carried out faster due to additional equipments to the drawing desk.

Disadvantages of Adjustable Drawing Desk

  1. It is expensive to produce
  2. People using should be literate on how best they can use it to prevent being harmed.

CHAPTER TWO

2.0 Literature Review

2.1 Introduction

Defense Procedure for Chemical Engineering Researchers

In preparation for defending a project or seminar on Construction of a Fluidzed Bed Reactor, it is imperative that as a nursing student, you demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of your research. The defense process is structured to include presenting your work, answering questions, and illustrating its pertinence. Initially, provide a succinct yet thorough introduction to your research topic, emphasizing its importance and the objectives, ensuring that both the audience and the External Examiner can understand the scope of your study.

Prior to your defense, be thoroughly acquainted with your research abstract and the critical elements of Chapter One, including motivation for embarking on this research, problem statement, objectives, and significance. In Chapter Two, be ready to cite at least two references from the literature review. For Chapter Three, you should be equipped to discuss the methodologies, tools, and techniques utilized. In Chapter Four, defend your research by justifying the findings and linking them to your research objectives.

Conclude your defense by succinctly summarizing the study and offering insightful, evidence-based recommendations. A professional dress code, such as wearing a suit and tie, is vital to create a favorable impression and elevate your presentation.

During the question and answer segment, the External Examiner may pose questions pertaining to your research. If confronted with a challenging or irrelevant question, respond diplomatically with, “Sorry, Sir/Madam, the question asked is beyond the scope of my study.” Whenever possible, direct your answers back to your research findings to reinforce your expertise.
