A shop is a place where various types of goods are packed and sold. Shopping is the process of purchasing items in exchange for money. The business-to-consumer aspect of an online shopping is the most visible business use of the World Wide Web. The primary goal of an online shopping site is to sell goods and services online. This project deals with developing an e-commerce website for online shopping. It provides the user with a catalogue of different goods and services available for purchase in the store. In order to facilitate online purchase a shopping cart is provided to the user. The reason for writing this project work on this topic is to create software that will automate shopping for the school campus using the intranet. The research methodologies to be used include SSADM which fully means structured system analysis design methodology and prototyping. The programming languages to be used include Adobe Dreamweaver cs5, PHP which fully means hypertext preprocessor and MYSQL which fully means structured query language. This software will help to make shopping stress-free and fun in the sense that you will place an order and it will be delivered at your desired location without stress. This software automates the existing system and provides more security. It will reduce pressure mounted on sellers from the buyers, and ensure transaction convenience. The contribution of this project work to the growth of ICT which fully means information and communication technology in Nigeria is to promote the use of online shopping cart system for different store or campus as an educational tool.

This research work was undertaken to solve the various challenges encounter in showcasing and delivering goods and services to different client around the globe where every business transaction involves an on presence for transaction to be successfully executed.
In view of the problems mentioned above, this project is aimed at implementing an online shopping cart system for a mobile shop will exclusively:
This research work “Design and implementation of computerized shopping cart system for a GSM/Mobile shop”. the system will be a web-based application and will be implemented on a relational database system (MySQL). Html (hypertext markup language), CSS (cascading style sheet) and Java Script will be used to design the web-user interface, php (hypertext pre-processor) will be used as the serve- side script language to link the interface and the database and Ajax technology for automation of the cart system.
This research work is to develop a system capable of handling sales by automating in itself a cart system that stores all sales details prior to when the user request close the sales service.
The system will also incorporate in its design a billing system that will display the total sales and product at the close of each transaction.
The system will not incorporate in its development all the functions of a functional business activities system but will focus only on the aforementioned functionalities. The system will not be responsible for any loss of data if its environment (network/system installed on) is corrupt.

In essence, the research work was successfully researched to meet the objectives set at the beginning of the project work. While one cannot completely rule out one form of limitation or the other, it was a success to a greater extent. On the whole, the research has been a worthwhile exercise. It has afforded the researcher the opportunity to really appraise the situation on the ground and allow one to bring out areas that might need attention for the improvement of the research work.
From this study, a shopping centre website providing online market and web site package under the same domain is successfully implemented.
Using the principle of content management, online market provides all functions which customers need for conducting online shopping. Furthermore, the website package service well known among online store owners is convenient and flexible for any potential users. For website development open source software is mostly used due to its low cost of development. Provided services are likewise relatively low in price and suitable for online market. This website also promotes e-commerce and online marketing on the Internet, complying with the information technology policy of the government. Regarding website quality, implementing various techniques of web design and database management system coupled with other additional services, the website is quite responsive.
Moreover, to obtain the highest system performance, it utilizes full options of both hardware and operating system software. With all mentioned techniques, the website operates with low resource consumption at its massive size. This website will expand e-commerce business to cover most of available Internet devices and technology, such as mobile phone, mobile payment, and wireless application protocol and pocket personal computer.
Only few across the counter information were provided for in the research work, it is strongly recommended for subsequent researcher to expand the scope of the research work.
