I am equally thankful to stakeholders, including mentors, teachers, and colleagues, for their encouragement and support. Finally, I deeply appreciate my family and friends for their patience and unwavering support throughout this journey. Your contributions have been instrumental in making this research a reality.

ABSTRACT

This work is an attempt to produce a quality hair gel that will last for a long time without any side effect. The methodology adopted in this work follows strictly the procedure documented by Nathan Cordero and Raphael Cordero in their own project work, which was carried out by the used of some materials like:

  1. Carbopole - The major binder
  2. Decongested water - oxidation
  3. Ethanol - preservative
  4. Colour - colouration
  5. Sodium hydroxide - for thickness
  6. Strawberry - aroma

All attempt at a quantitative production of the product were hampered by paucity of chemicals and laboratory instruments. This work may not be said to be very successful but indications to the chemicals constituents of the product samples used was achieved.

Further conclusion of the result of the work is given in chapter four of this write up.

Production of Hair Gel

1.0 Introduction

A gel is a nice cosmetic that is used to style hairs. The use of hair gel depends on the style that one wants to do. In the production and development of hair gel, there are modifications and new styles are still coming out.

Scientists have contributed to the growth of hair gel, that it has become the cosmetic of no one but he who makes the best of it.

This chapter presents a survey of the cosmetic (gel) from the early beginning to present and future use as means of diverting the knowledge of the path cosmetic gel has taken to become what it is and would be many years today.

1.1 The Development Of Gel

The development of gel could be divided roughly into three periods:

  1. Colourless hair gel
  2. Black hair gel
  3. Spray hair gel.

1. Colourles Hair Gel

This is the first hair gel that was introduced, which looks like starch. It was good and lasts for sometimes when applied to the hair but its disadvantage was that shows whitish colour when applied.

During the time it was introduced, it was rich and significant other great work it does was that it holds the hair firm, beautiful and there are many ways and styles used to apply it.

2. Black Hair Gel

As time went on, the black hair gel was introduced. This gave greater impetus to the development of hair gel. One of the most important adantage of this is that it does not change the price of hair gel, hence it makes the whitish colour that appear in the colourless gel not to be seen, when applied to the hair. It makes the whole hair black. It suits all hair type and darkens coloured and grey hair.

CHAPTER TWO

2.0 Literature Review

2.1 Introduction

This chapter focuses on the review of related literature. A literature review includes the current knowledge as well as theoretical and methodological contributions to a particular topic. It documents the state of the art with respect to the topic you are writing. It surveys the literature in the topic selected. In this research work the literature review includes the conceputal review, theoretical framework, the review of related literature …

Defense Procedure for Science Laboratory Technology Researchers

In preparation for defending a project or seminar on Production of Hair Gel, it is imperative that as a nursing student, you demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of your research. The defense process is structured to include presenting your work, answering questions, and illustrating its pertinence. Initially, provide a succinct yet thorough introduction to your research topic, emphasizing its importance and the objectives, ensuring that both the audience and the External Examiner can understand the scope of your study.

Prior to your defense, be thoroughly acquainted with your research abstract and the critical elements of Chapter One, including motivation for embarking on this research, problem statement, objectives, and significance. In Chapter Two, be ready to cite at least two references from the literature review. For Chapter Three, you should be equipped to discuss the methodologies, tools, and techniques utilized. In Chapter Four, defend your research by justifying the findings and linking them to your research objectives.

Conclude your defense by succinctly summarizing the study and offering insightful, evidence-based recommendations. A professional dress code, such as wearing a suit and tie, is vital to create a favorable impression and elevate your presentation.

During the question and answer segment, the External Examiner may pose questions pertaining to your research. If confronted with a challenging or irrelevant question, respond diplomatically with, “Sorry, Sir/Madam, the question asked is beyond the scope of my study.” Whenever possible, direct your answers back to your research findings to reinforce your expertise.
